Commercial buildings are home to a wide variety of hard floor surfaces—from porcelain and ceramic tile to VCT, LVT, rubber composites, polished concrete, terrazzo, and natural stone. Each material has its own maintenance needs, wear patterns, and vulnerabilities, which means there’s no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to proper care.

At Personal Touch Service Solutions, we’ve made it a priority to become fluent in the cleaning, restoration, and long-term maintenance of all types of hard flooring. Whether you need routine scrubbing, strip-and-refinish services, deep cleaning for textured tile, or expert repolishing of stone surfaces, our team brings the knowledge, equipment, and experience needed to keep your floors safe, clean, and looking their best.

FAQs

  • Do we always need to strip VCT flooring yearly?

Not necessarily.  If floors are maintained well, you can typically scrub and recoat floors for several years.  However, floors with embedded soils or that were improperly cared for may need to start over before introducing this.

  • Are you able to remove scratches and dull etch marks from marble surfaces?

Yes, through special compounds and equipment marble can be restored over and over to like-new condition.

  • We have roll vinyl and were told that it is a no-wax product but it looks dull and scratched, what do we do?

Factory installed finishes are extremely durable and hold up well, but no finish is always impervious to scratches and wear.  Even “no-wax” flooring can be refinished once the factory installed finish no longer looks it’s best.

  • We have had a hard time finding anyone who applies paste wax to natural wood floors. Is that a service that you do?

Yes, we can provide rubbed paste wax with and without natural darkeners to bring out the flooring detail and texture.  This finish gives an old world patina that cannot be duplicated by polyurethane products.

Your Floors Speak for Your Business

The condition of your floors is one of the first things customers and employees notice when they enter your space. Clean edges, a consistent shine, and well-kept surfaces quietly communicate that you care—not just about appearances, but about your building, your brand, and the people who walk through your doors each day. When your floors reflect excellence, so does your reputation.

Best Practices for Hard Floor Care That Supports Your Image

  • Choose the right flooring materials for the space and how it’s used—durability and maintenance needs matter.
  • Dustmop frequently to remove grit before it scratches or dulls the surface; change dustmop heads regularly for effectiveness.
  • Use enough water when mopping so heavier soils settle rather than being spread across the floor.
  • Install high-quality matting at entrances to trap moisture and reduce slip/fall risks during wet conditions.
  • Schedule regular professional service tailored to your floor type—whether it’s refinishing, scrubbing, or polishing.
